A message from Goodwill:

Goodwill Industries of the Inland Northwest is committed to the health and safety of our donors, shoppers, employees and program participants. These are unprecedented times; a time of great uncertainty for all of us and a new situation for local Goodwill organizations across the United States.

In accordance with the “Stay Home, Stay Healthy” order put forth by Washington Governor Jay Inslee, we are temporarily closing all retail stores, donation centers, and service offices in both Washington and Idaho, effective at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, March 25. We look forward to reopening  and resuming operations when it is deemed safe and appropriate to do so.

Goodwill will maintain three essential service programs with limited support staff in accordance with the Washington order to continue to serve community members who are vulnerable for housing and basic needs.

We ask that you hold onto your donations at this time. We will gladly accept them to fund our services once again as soon as we are able to reopen.

These are unforeseen times, and we know that all of us are experiencing the uncertainty together. Our leadership team has worked diligently the last few weeks toward the goal of maintaining operations to keep income coming in for our programs and employees. We know that many businesses and nonprofits throughout the nation are having to make some difficult decisions. The decisions we make today are intended to protect our return to operations in the future for the benefit of our employees and the people we serve in the community. We believe that those services that we have provided for more than 80 years will be even more needed in the months to come as we come out of this crisis as a community and a nation.

We regret that Goodwill’s closure will further impact so many people’s lives who are already feeling concerned for their health, finances and well-being. This has been a very difficult decision, but we are following the direction of state government.

We are all in this together. At a safe and appropriate time, we will resume our normal activities and work together to rebuild stronger, more resilient communities. We’ll share more information on when we will resume operations on our website discovergoodwill.org  and social media channels. We ask for your understanding and patience.

Be well.
