How can the Wildfire Assistance Program help?
- Lease or rent paymentÂ
- Hotel/motel expenses to provide temporary housing
- Move-in costs (security deposits, first and last month’s rent, utility deposits)
- Monthly rent. Rent must only be paid one month at a time, although rental arrears, pro-rated rent, and last month’s rent may be included with first month’s payment.
- Past-due rent, and fees related to past-due rent.
- Lot rent for RV or manufactured home.
- Costs or fees that are required with rent (utilities, administrative fees, parking spaces, pet fees)
- Past due utility payments.
- Utility-only assistance.
- Costs for securing housing (application fees, background check fees, credit check fees)
- Rental insurance when required by lease.
- Other costs as approved by the Department of Commerce.
- Financial assistance is provided through direct payments to landlords, utility companies, or other approved third-party providers.
