Before coming to Goodwill, life was pretty quiet for Jeffrey, and honestly, kind of boring. There wasn’t much to look forward to each day. But that all changed when he got a job at Goodwill through the Medicaid Supported Employment program.
Now, he gets to work with others and feels like part of a team. He enjoys building furniture and helping put media items out on the sales floor. For Jeffrey, it feels good to have something to do and a place to be.
He said, “Goodwill has provided me with community from my job coaches and co-workers, and the extra bit of income helps.” The support from Goodwill has made a big difference in his life.
Jeffrey is always making people laugh a lot, he is always telling jokes. His case manager said, “He’s like our workplace comedian. He keeps us smiling and laughing.” And his co-workers enjoy his fun and positive personality.
Without Goodwill, Jeffrey said, “My life would probably still be pretty boring.” Now, he gets to come to work and engage with others, stays busy, and enjoys making work fun for everyone.
