Goodwill has a special program to help you get training for a better job. It’s designed for people who want to learn new skills but don’t have the time or money to go to college.
With funding from Google.org, Goodwill can offer free online classes for Google Certifications in Project Management, IT Support, IT Automation, UX Design, Data Analytics, Cybersecurity, Digital Marketing and E-Commerce, and AI (artificial intelligence). Normally, each course costs about $250, but thanks to this funding, Goodwill covers the cost.
How does it work? Goodwill Industries International (GII) received a grant from Google and chose a few local Goodwill locations to run the program. Goodwill Industries of the Inland Northwest is the only one in the Northwest offering it.
The program is available through Goodwill’s Workforce & Family Services (WFS) department. Goodwill holds licenses to sign people up and help them get started. The courses are self-paced, with no deadlines. So, you can spend time learning whenever it fits your schedule.
The goal is to help people explore new careers and get jobs that offer good pay, but without needing years of college. It’s also a smart way to test out a career field before spending money going to college.
Goodwill is proud to offer this opportunity and hopes more people will take advantage of it to build brighter futures!
