Goodwill Guides Meghann’s Life From Cold and Chaotic to Warm and Welcoming

Meghann struggled with homelessness and stayed in a shelter. It was cold, hectic, and not a great place to be. But it was better than being out on the streets. Meghann felt stuck, not knowing how to make things better. She couldn’t find a place to live that she could afford. She really needed some guidance.

Building Lives and Strengthening Communities

Then, someone told her about Goodwill and the services they offer. She learned that there are programs at Goodwill that help people who are in tough situations like hers. So, she decided to reach out for help. She connected with Goodwill’s Workforce & Family Services (WFS) to see what they could do to help her out.

Connecting with Hope

She learned about Goodwill’s Foundational Community Supports (FCS) program. The FCS program helps people with complex needs find stable housing and employment. FCS staff can help with housing and job searches. And they can teach someone tools to help them be more successful at work.

A Lifeline for Meghann

So, Meghann enrolled in the FCS program, and things started to look up. Through the program, she got help getting her GED, stable housing, clothing, and employment. And they guided and supported Meghann with finding childcare so she could go to training. This gave her hope. She felt like there was a light at the end of the tunnel.

A Joyful Transition

After Meghann got a hand-up from Goodwill, life changed. It went from cold and chaotic to joyful, warm, and welcoming. She is thankful for the guidance and support. Now she feels successful and is excited to see what lies ahead in her future.
