What is Goodwill doing to prevent the spread of Coronavirus

Be informed. Be safe. Be well.
At Goodwill the health and well-being of our participants, employees, customers and community are top priorities. As a mission-based nonprofit organization, we care deeply for the people we serve and the employees, customers and partners who allow us to help people every day.

While the COVID-19 pandemic continues to evolve daily, our leadership and staff are taking steps to protect well-being while also serving people who need our help.

We are keeping an eye on reports from local public health departments and the Center for Disease Control regarding COVID-19. We have established a response team to act quickly and effectively.

  1. As an immediate step, we increased daily cleaning and disinfecting efforts at all facilities. We are frequently disinfecting often-touched surfaces such as counters, door handles, phones, etc.
  2. We ask that all participants, employees and customers who are ill or think they may have been exposed to COVID-19 to please stay home and contact their doctor. For information on preventing the spread of this virus, please visit www.cdc.gov/COVID19 or your state or county public health department website.
  3. Our employees are being instructed to wash their hands with soap and water regularly. Signage has been placed in all facilities to educate our employees, participants and community members about how to prevent the spread of germs.
  4. Where possible, we are implementing social distancing in our work stations, and encouraging work from home for those jobs that can do so. Meetings will be conducted via phone or video conference.

At this time, all of our stores and offices are open for business. If for any reason there is a need to alter our operations or services, we will use our website and social channels and other means to communicate.

All of us at Goodwill care deeply for those who have been impacted by this virus. Again, the health and safety of our participants, employees, customers, donors and communities are a top priority. We are committed to doing our part to keep you safe.

Please take care.
