Overcoming Shyness and Uncertainty
When Alicia first came to Goodwill, she was very shy and unsure of herself. She hardly talked to anyone and seemed hesitant to work. It was challenging for her to complete tasks, and she often struggled to finish what she started.
Goodwill’s Support Builds Confidence
Goodwill saw the potential in Alicia and wanted to help her grow. They provided her with tasks she could handle and patiently showed her how to do them. Over time, Alicia began to overcome her shyness and build her confidence.
A New, Social Alicia
As Alicia’s confidence grew, so did her willingness to interact with others. She began talking to everyone and became very social. She not only completed her tasks but also started helping others with theirs, showing how much she had grown.
Working with Pride and Independence
Now, Alicia works independently on most tasks and knows exactly what needs to be done each day. She prioritizes her work, jumps in to help wherever needed, and takes pride in a job well done. Alicia is confident and proud of the work she does at Goodwill.
A Bright Future at Goodwill
Alicia is happy with how far she has come and is excited about her future at Goodwill. She says, “Without Goodwill, my life would be boring, and I wouldn’t have the confidence to work and earn money. I never want to leave working at Goodwill.”
