Randy needed a job but didn’t know where to start looking for help. He didn’t know how to use a computer to look for a job. So he went to the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) Job Placement Program. The DVR sent him to Goodwill for help.
Randy started working with Goodwill’s Workforce and Family Services Employment program staff. He worried a lot about paying his bills while being unemployed. So he was anxious to get a full-time job quickly. Randy’s caseworker Teresa got to work right away helping him with his resume, and that gave him confidence to apply for jobs.
With help from Goodwill, he was able to apply for jobs online and follow up on his applications. Randy even practiced interviewing, so he would have the best possible chance at landing a job.
And it worked! In less than a month Randy got a fulltime job.
Today, Randy is still working the full-time job that Goodwill helped him get. When he thinks about what his life would look like if it wasn’t for Goodwill, he says, “Without Goodwill, my life would be more uncertain.”
Because of his efforts and Goodwill’s guidance, Randy is now living a life of certainty. He gets up every day and goes to a job that he enjoys and pay his bills without any worry.
