A Job That Didn’t Fit
Before coming to Goodwill, Ricky had a job, but he could only work one day a month. He wanted to work more often but needed a job that fit his schedule and physical needs better. Ricky was also busy with Special Olympics and karate on Tuesdays and Thursdays, so his job needed to work around these activities.
Finding the Right Opportunity
Goodwill offered Ricky a chance to work every day, which was exactly what he needed. His new job allowed him to earn his own money and try new things.
Balancing Work and Special Interests
Now, Ricky enjoys going to work every day. It fits perfectly with his schedule of karate classes and Special Olympics. Working at Goodwill has also given him a chance to get out of the house regularly and stay active.
Making Friends and Enjoying Work
At Goodwill, Ricky made new friends quickly. He loves seeing his coworkers and job coaches each day. He feels happy and excited to be part of the team and to meet new people through Goodwill’s Group Supported Employment program.
Grateful for Goodwill
Ricky is very thankful for the opportunity he got through Goodwill. He says, “Without Goodwill, my life would be boring, and I wouldn’t be able to make money.” He is glad to continue working and enjoying his job every day.
