Today, Goodwill Industries of the Inland Northwest presented a check for $35,721.46 to the Greater Inland Northwest Red Cross to support local wildfire relief efforts. The donation was possible thanks to the generosity of Goodwill shoppers across eastern Washington and north Idaho who rounded up at the cash register last month.

Between August 9 and August 23, Goodwill customers throughout eastern Washington and north Idaho rounded up their purchases, donating a total of $17,635.73 to support Greater Inland Northwest Red Cross’ efforts to help people impacted by local wildfires. Goodwill Industries of the Inland Northwest matched those customer donations dollar for dollar.

Lacie Clark, Executive Director of Greater Inland Northwest Red Cross, shared that her son called her one day and said “I just rounded up at Goodwill to support Red Cross!’ Clark added, “Those small donations add up to make a big impact. And we are so grateful.”

“Thank you for the work your staff and volunteers have done to help our community this summer,” said Clark Brekke, President and CEO of Goodwill Industries of the Inland Northwest.

“We are so grateful to our customers for their generosity, said Heather Alexander, Vice-President of Marketing and Communications. “This was something we could all do to help our community in crisis.”

Goodwill was represented today by Clark Brekke, President and CEO, Kara Cheney, Sr. Vice-President of Operations, Rebecca Severtsen-Rea, CFO, and Heather Alexander, Vice-President of Marketing and Communications.
