Spokane Veterans Stand Down

Saturday, October 12th
10 AM to 3 PM
Hosted at the Spokane Salvation Army, the Spokane Veteran Stand Down is open to all Veterans and offered by VA and local community partners gathering together in one location – in order to serve Veterans with local community resources and services to help.

In addition, Stand Downs offer Veterans a health care check-up, hot meal, VA health care enrollment and benefits advisors.

Typically, events include haircuts, clothing repair, food assistance, important information on housing, job opportunities, and local businesses providing services to assist Veterans.

BECU Shred and eCycle Event

BECU Members and non-members are all invited to BECU’s free annual fall shred and e-cycle event at the Spokane Arena.

What to bring:
Bring up to three full grocery bags, or two banker boxes full of paper shred items: Drive through event – we’ll unload the car for you!

We’re also accepting e-cycle items, in partnership with Goodwill. Bring your old electronics, including: TV’s, computers, printers, laptops and cellphones.

Goodwill will also be accepting gently used regular donation items as well.

South Hill Trunk or Treat

Saturday, October 26th
5 PM to 7 PM

Mark your calendars! Saturday, October 26th from 5 to 7 PM. Trunk or treating is back on the South Hill and this year we are joining the Southside Christian Church in their parking lot for a BIGGER community event.

In 2023, we had over 1,000 attendees. We can not do it alone and need YOUR help.

Are you a business, organization, or car club that’s looking to participate in an outstanding, local community outreach event? Can’t attend but would love to be a sponsor for this event? Please email Teresa by clicking the Sponsor Sign Up button.

Success Story: Danny

Group Supported Employment Program

Keep trying and don’t give up.”

After Danny graduated high school, he didn’t have much to do. He watched TV and went to church on Sundays. He felt like his life was boring. He needed something more fulfilling. That’s when he looked to Goodwill for some help.

Through Goodwill’s Group Supported Employment program, Danny got a job and learned many new skills. When Danny first came to Goodwill, he was strictly in a wheelchair and unable to stand. Now, he walks around on his own and works without using his wheelchair.

Danny is proud to be working and living a more independent life.
